Dear Friends and Supporters,
In recent years, the Government of Vietnam has demonstrated strong leadership in prioritizing road safety for children. This August, with iRAP in Da Nang, Vietnam, we co-hosted a workshop on “Sharing the Big Data Screening Results” from the
AI&Me: Leveraging AI tools for road safety program with the Government of Vietnam and national stakeholders.
The
results were intended to inform the local government in prioritizing
improvements to transport infrastructure, thereby contributing to the
reduction of injuries and fatalities caused by road traffic crashes
involving students across the country.
Building
on the momentum of the recently launched multi-partner program to
safeguard students on their way to and from school, with support from
the United Nations Road Safety Fund (UNRSF), the Vietnam Ministry of
Construction and AIP Foundation co-hosted a capacity-building training focused on implementing the
Safe School Zones Guide and conducting school zone assessments using the Star Rating for Schools (SR4S) methodology.
The one-and-a-half-day training aimed to strengthen the capacity of
officials from provincial Departments of Construction across the country
in applying the
Safe School Zones Guide.
In Hanoi, Greig
Craft, our Founder and President, joined Dr. Angela Pratt from the
World Health Organization to formally sign a Memorandum of Understanding
(MoU) to launch the Viet Nam Project 2000 Road Safety Partnership.
Viet Nam Project 2000 aims to improve road safety through coordinated
action, evidence-based solutions, and the collective will of government
agencies, NGOs, international partners, the private sector, and
community leaders.
Greig Craft continued advocating for the importance of certified helmets at the
Senate of the Republic of Mexico, where he hosted a special
presentation titled “Safety that saves lives: innovation and
affordability of certified helmets.” The
objective of this trip to Mexico was to leverage Greig Craft’s visit to
share his experience with key stakeholders from the public and private
sectors regarding the implementation of a safe motorcycle helmet factory
in Vietnam.
His expertise was highly valuable in advancing the potential to replicate this type of initiative in Mexico. In early August, Greig
Craft joined fellow partners at the Nepal Automobile Association and
delivered a keynote address at their Policy Dialogue on Automobile and
Better Mobility 2025 in Nepal.
In exciting news from Thailand, I am pleased to announce the official appointment of Ratanawadee

On
