EFTHITA, you helped us achieve action for children in the New Urban Agenda

Dear EFTHITA,

It has been a short while since we were in touch but lots has been happening behind the scenes to continue the global push to #SaveKidsLives.

Thanks to your commitment to #SaveKidsLives, the campaign has been able to influence the New Urban Agenda!

The New Urban Agenda is a twenty year global policy framework for cities. It has been  adopted at the United Nations Habitat III conference, held in Quito, Ecuador. The #SaveKidsLives campaign, with your support EFTHITA, contributed towards ensuring road safety goals were included in the Global Goals. Now, with over 1 million supporters backing our call, we have managed to ensure safe and healthy journeys to school has been included in this new agenda as a priority.

The formal adoption of the agenda marks a significant achievement; the New Urban Agenda includes our core objective of a ‘safe and healthy journey to school for every child' as a priority.

The FIA Foundation and global partners promoted this agenda, emphasising the importance of mobility policies for child health, at several side and parallel events during the Habitat III conference.This priority is in line with the focus of the 2020 Action Agenda.

#SaveKidsLives continues pushing for the 2020 Action Agenda to be implemented by governments.
