Jacqueline O’Donovan (O’Donovan) – “Fleet safety and best practices”
O'Donovan Waste Disposal has grown to be one of London’s most successful independent waste management companies, employing 160 staff, running an 90-strong fleet of HGVs, and achieving a turnover in excess of £19m. As MD, Jacqueline O’Donovan is one of the waste, logistics, and construction sectors’ most fervent pioneers of employee training and industry best practice. She is passionate about improving road safety, not only within her company, but also across the wider industry. Jacqueline O’Donovan will discuss her company’s high standards when it comes to fleet and driver safety and why it is important to champion safety initiatives and to share best practice.

José Guilherme (CTT Correios de Portugal - Postal Services of Portugal) – “New road safety programme of CTT Correios de Portugal SA”
With a large fleet and thousands of workers driving on the roads CTT has implemented a new road safety programme which covers a number of subjects, including: safety in vehicles, recruitment of drivers, training, control of accidents, recognition of safer drivers and teams, and constant communication on road safety. Launched after taking into account that thereis a high number of road accidents among the company’s fleet operations, the goal of the new programme is to reduce by 20% accidents involving two-wheeled vehicles and by 10% accidents involving light-vehicles.
José Guilherme, fleet manager of CTT-Correios de Portugal, will share with us the new road safety programme that he has implemented.
