FEVR launches the INVISIBLE VICTIMS CAMPAIGN.
In Europe, the application of Victims’ Rights Directive 2012/29/EU has been very disappointing for victims of road crashes, since a very small percentage has benefited from the Victim’s Statute. One of the reasons is the lack of recognition of victims of road crashes as victims of a crime, even though most of the time it is the result of assaults in traffic as a result of illicit, reckless and illegal conduct.
We claim the recognition of road crash victims as victims of crime. To this end, we propose a series of common actions aimed at giving visibility to the existing reality, in which the rights to information, protection and support for road crash victims are not guaranteed.
The campaign will take place during the year 2023, taking into account that the modification of the Directive is important, but the most important thing is the transposition in each country.
