Dear Friend,
The UN Road Safety Fund (UNRSF) will open its next call for proposals on
1 September 2024. This presents a significant opportunity for us to
advance road safety initiatives in low- and middle-income countries
(LMICs), with a particular focus on improving laws or standards on
motorcycle helmets in Asia.
As a participating pre-approved agency, the Alliance is eligible to
submit proposals directly to the UNRSF. We are currently inviting
applications of interest (AOIs) that align with our Strategic Plan and
are seeking partners to collaborate on this important initiative.
Key Details:
- Deadline extended: The deadline for submitting AOIs to the Alliance has been extended to 20 August 2024 at 23:59 CET.
- Eligibility: While only participating pre-approved agencies can submit proposals directly to the UNRSF, this invitation to submit an AOI to the Alliance is open to all interested organizations. You do not need to be an Alliance member or a participating pre-approved agency to submit an AOI to us.
- Target countries: We are particularly interested in proposals targeting LMICs in the WHO South East Asia and Western Pacific regions. Suggested countries include Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, Cook Islands, India, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Maldives, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Philippines, Samoa, Thailand, and Vietnam. However, we will consider other countries with sound justifications for relevance to the UNRSF’s funding priorities.
- Focus Areas: We are seeking proposals that align with our focus on implementing laws or standards on motorcycle helmets.
Yours sincerely,
Lotte Brondum
Executive Director
