Project EDWARD 2017: what we know so far
Project EDWARD, the second 'European Day Without A Road Death', took place on Thursday 21 September.
Provisional results are as follows:
- 25 countries have so far provided results, and we must report that 37 people lost their lives on 21 September.
- Of these, 10 fatalities occurred in Poland, 6 in Greece and 6 in Romania.
- Five countries have yet to report their figures.
Media
attention was significant, and we know there were reports and
interviews on a great many TV and radio stations across Europe.
Our social
media activity (particularly on Twitter) was very successful:
Total Unique Twitter Reach for #ProjectEDWARD: 25 million This compares with 19.5 million in 2016.
(Unique reach is the potential for timeline impressions based on the followers of the accounts tweeting and retweeting about #ProjectEDWARD. Each account is only counted once per day.)

We
also trended in Spain and other countries.
