Η ΕΥΘΥΤΑ ΡΟΔΟΥ- ΠΑΡΑΤΗΡΗΤΗΡΙΟ ΟΔΙΚΗΣ ΑΣΦΑΛΕΙΑΣ

Εταιρεία Υποστήριξης Θυμάτων Τροχαίων Ατυχημάτων είναι ένας Μη Κερδοσκοπικός, Μη Κυβερνητικός Οργανισμός, στο χώρο της Οδικής Ασφάλειας.
Στη Ρόδο λειτουργεί από τον Ιούνιο 2004 , πρωτοβουλία της Προέδρου Καρύδη Ελένης, θύμα τροχαίου ατυχήματος, μετά από τον χαμό του γιου της Δημήτρη 19 χρόνων στις 12 Φεβρουαρίου 2002, πλαισιωμένη από επιστήμονες, θύματα, συγγενείς τροχαίων δυστυχημάτων και ευαισθητοποιημένα άτομα στο θέμα της Οδικής Ασφάλειας.
Είναι μέλος:

-Της Ευρωπαϊκής Ομοσπονδίας Θυμάτων Τροχαίων Ατυχημάτων-FEVR (Σύμβουλος του Ο.Η.Ε και του Π.Ο.Υ)
-Υποστηρικτής της Παγκόσμιας Οργάνωσης « MAKE ROADS SAFE »
-Το 2008 υπέγραψε την Ευρωπαϊκή Χάρτα Οδικής Ασφάλειας, για λιγότερα θύματα με την υποστήριξη της Ε.Ε.
-Αρωγό μέλος του Ε.Δ.Ι.ΠΑ.Β (Εθνικό Δίκτυο Πρόληψης Ατυχημάτων , συμπεριλαμβανομένων των τροχαίων)
-Μέλος της Διακομματικής Επιτροπής Δήμου Ρόδου
-Ιδρυτικό μέλος του Πανελλαδικού Συλλόγου
"SOS ΤΡΟΧΑΙΑ ΕΓΚΛΗΜΑΤΑ"
-Υποστηρίζει την Δεκαετία Δράσης 2011-2020 για την Οδική Ασφάλεια

+Η υποστήριξη των θυμάτων των Τροχαίων Ατυχημάτων από ομάδα συμβούλων ( νομικών, ιατρών, ειδικών εμπειρογνωμόνων, συγκοινωνιολόγων, μηχανολόγων, εκπαιδευτικών, ψυχολόγων, κοινωνικών λειτουργών ).

+Η ανάπτυξη αλληλεγγύης μεταξύ των θυμάτων των Τροχαίων Ατυχημάτων( ηθική υποστήριξη ).

+Η οργανωμένη παρέμβαση και η κοινωνική πίεση προς τους φορείς της πολιτείας, για τη βελτίωση της οδικής ασφάλειας και την μείωση των τροχαίων ατυχημάτων.

+Η υποστήριξη η ανάληψη και προώθηση δραστηριοτήτων σε θέματα τα οποία προάγουν την οδική ασφάλεια, την κυκλοφοριακή αγωγή, την έρευνα, την ενημέρωση , την ευαισθητοποίηση των πολιτών των ιδιαίτερα ευάλωτων ηλικιών (μαθητών, ηλικιωμένων).

Η ΕΥΘΥΤΑ ΡΟΔΟΥ, διαθέτει ένα τεχνοκρατικό πυρήνα από επιστήμονες- μέλη διαφόρων κλάδων ( Υγειονομικούς, Νομικούς, Εκπαιδευτικούς, Μηχανολόγους- Μηχανικούς, Πραγματογνώμονες, Συγκοινωνιολόγους, Οικονομολόγους, Αναλυτές Η/Υ, Ψυχολόγους, Κοινωνικούς Λειτουργούς).

Το δυναμικό της ΕΥΘΥΤΑ ΡΟΔΟΥ, ανταποκρίνεται απόλυτα στις υψηλές απαιτήσεις σοβαρών ερευνητικών προγραμμάτων, με θέμα την Οδική Ασφάλεια, την πρόσληψη και την μείωση των Τροχαίων Ατυχημάτων.

Διαθέτει επίσης ένα αξιόλογο επιτελείο έμπειρων επιστημόνων, που της επέτρεψε ως τώρα να πραγματοποιήσει πολλαπλές εκπαιδευτικές- ενημερωτικές δράσεις με στόχο τη βελτίωση της Οδικής Συμπεριφοράς.

Η ΕΥΘΥΤΑ ΡΟΔΟΥ, συμβάλλει δραστικά στην ενημέρωση των πολιτών για την Οδική Ασφάλεια, την πρόληψη και την μείωση των τροχαίων ατυχημάτων και παρέχει σε μόνιμη βάση Νομική, Ιατρική, Ψυχολογική και Κοινωνική Υποστήριξη σε θύματα και συγγενείς θυμάτων Τροχαίων Ατυχημάτων όταν αυτή ζητηθεί.

Η ΕΥΘΥΤΑ ΡΟΔΟΥ, έχει διοργανώσει εκδηλώσεις ( Ημερίδες, Έκθεση φωτογραφίας , Δράσεις σε ανοικτούς χώρους, Διδασκαλία σε Σχολεία Α/ας και Β/ας Εκπαίδευσης, Σεμινάρια σε κέντρα εκπαίδευσης νεοσυλλέκτων, Ενημερωτικές ομιλίες σε Δήμους της Ρόδου) στο πλαίσιο της ενημέρωσης των πολιτών σε θέματα που προάγουν την Οδική Ασφάλεια και έχει κάνει ουσιαστικές παρεμβάσεις στους φορείς σε θέματα Οδικής Ασφάλειας.

Έχει εκδώσει ενημερωτικά έντυπα με έγκυρη επιστημονική πληροφόρηση σε θέματα Οδικής Ασφάλειας.

Η ΕΥΘΥΤΑ ΡΟΔΟΥ, πιστεύει ότι για την επίτευξη αποτελεσμάτων χρειάζεται δραστηριοποίηση από τους πολίτες, υποστήριξη από τον κρατικό μηχανισμό και αλλαγή της αρνητικής νοοτροπίας στοιχεία που θα μας βοηθήσουν να απαλλαγούμε από την ιδιότητα της Ευρωπαϊκής χώρας με μεγάλο αριθμό Θυμάτων Τροχαίων δυστυχημάτων και με επικίνδυνους δρόμους για ασφαλή οδήγηση.

It was a pleasure meeting many of our members and friends at the 2nd Global High-Level Conference on Road Safety in Brasilia, Brazil last week. Please visit our website for our members' comments and an overview from the conference.
The Alliance recently established a governance working group with the overall aim of improving Alliance transparency and governance. This has resulted in an number of governing documents that are published on our website.  


2nd Global High-Level Conference on Road Safety convenes in Brazil 
Last week, hundreds of ministers and representatives from NGOs, academia, the private sector, and bi- and multilateral agencies working in road safety around the world gathered for the 2nd High-Level Conference on Road Safety in Brasilia, Brazil. The Conference theme was “Time for Results.” Discussions focused on achieving the road safety targets recently adopted as part of the Sustainable Development Goals. More than 40 Alliance member NGOs contributed to the conference through panel discussions and topic-specific side-events aimed at advancing the global road safety agenda.

Alliance adopts policies to improve governance 
A governance working group has been established to provide advice to the Alliance Board of Directors on governance policies. This is part of ongoing efforts to improve transparency and accountability to members. The policy documents are publicly available and more will be added as they are developed. The newly adopted documents include:

  • Code of Conduct
  • Internal Regulations
  • Board Member Characteristics
  • Executive Committee Terms of Reference

WHO: Global Plan for the Decade of Action for Road Safety 2011-2020

The UN Road Safety Collaboration has developed a Global Plan for the Decade of Action for Road Safety 2011-2020 with input from many partners through an extensive consultation process through meetings and the Internet. The Plan provides an overall framework for activities which may take place in the context of the Decade. The categories or "pillars" of activities are: building road safety management capacity; improving the safety of road infrastructure and broader transport networks; further developing the safety of vehicles; enhancing the behaviour of road users; and improving post-crash care. Indicators have been developed to measure progress in each of these areas. Governments, international agencies, civil society organizations, the private sector and other stakeholders are invited to make use of the Plan as a guiding document for the events and activities they will support as part of the Decade.

UNITED NATIONS ECONOMIC COMMISSION FOR EUROPE 

The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) is one of the five United Nations regional commissions, administered by the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). It was established in 1947 with the mandate to help rebuild post-war Europe, develop economic activity and strengthen economic relations among European countries, and between Europe and the rest of the world. During the Cold War, UNECE served as a unique forum for economic dialogue and cooperation between East and West. Despite the complexity of this period, significant achievements were made, with consensus reached on numerous harmonization and standardization agreements. In the post-Cold War era, UNECE acquired not only many new member States, but also new functions. Since the early 1990s the organization has focused on analyses of the transition process, using its harmonization experience to facilitate the integration of Central and Eastern European countries into the global markets. UNECE is the forum where the countries of western, central and eastern Europe, central Asia and North America – 56 countries in all – come together to forge the tools of their economic cooperation. That cooperation concerns economics, statistics, the environment, transport, trade, sustainable energy, timber and habitat. The Commission offers a regional framework for the elaboration and harmonization of conventions, norms and standards. The Commission’s experts provide technical assistance to the countries of south-east Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States. This assistance takes the form of advisory services, training seminars and workshops where countries can share their experiences and best practices.

Κανάλι Ε και οδική ασφάλεια: Δεν είναι αυτό που νομίζεις…

ΔΙΑΦΗΜΙΣΗ
Όπως έχουμε αναφέρει σε αλεπάληλες αναρτήσεις μας, το κανάλι Ε αποτελεί απο το 2013 τον πολιορκητικό κλοιό μεσω του οποίου η ΠΑΡΑΝΟΜΗ ΥΠΑΙΘΡΙΑ ΔΙΑΦΗΜΙΣΗ προσπαθεί να ξανακερδίσει το χαμένο έδαφος (και χρήμα).   Σε μια σειρά Δήμους της Αττικής στήνονται κατα καιρούς πινακίδες οι οποιες με παρεμβασεις πολιτων και στη συνέχεια των Δήμων ξηλώνονται.
Εκει βέβαια που απολαμβάνουν πλήρους ασυλίας είναι ο Δήμος Αθηναίων. καθένας μπορεί επι χρόνια να θαυμάσει το έργο τους πάνω απο την γεφυρα της λεωφόρου Αθηνών, στην οδο Αχιλλέως. Στις αρχές Οκτώβρη 2015 μετα απο παρέμβαση διαφόρων φορέων, αναμεσα τους και ο SOS Τροχαία Εγκλήματα προχώρησε σε μηνύσεις εναντίον του και κάλεσε την Περιφέρεια να επιβάλει τα σχετικά πρόστιμα και τον Δήμο Αθηναίων να ξηλώσει τις πινακίδες.
Στις 19 Οκτωβρίου σε συνάντηση μας με τον αρμόδιο αντιδήμαρχο κο Καφετζόπουλο αυτος αναγνώρισε οτι οι πινακίδες είναι παράνομες και υποσχέθηκε ότι ο Δημος θα τις κατεβασει «τωρα που έχει το μηχανισμο» χωρις να δεσμευτεί χρονικά για το πότε… Αναλυτικά: ΕΔΩ
Στις 28 Οκτώβρη την ωρα που άλλοι έκαναν και άλλοι παρακολουθούσαν τις παρελάσεις στο συγκεκριμμενο κτιριο ανανεώθηκαν οι πινακίδες μ αυτες τις φωτογραφίας28 OKΤ 15 - Αντίγραφο
Σήμερα 19 Νοεμβρίου το κανάλι Ε κάνει εκπομπή για την οδική ασφάλεια!!!! Δεν ξέρουμε αν θα μιλήσουν η Αννίτα, η Ναταλία και οι άλλοι/άλλες διαφημιζόμενες/οι.
Ξέρουμε μόνο πως η διαφήμιση έχει θύματα και πως η υποκρισία δεν έχει όρια.

PRESS RELEASE: Launch of Alliance Empowerment Programthe Global Alliance of NGOs for Road Safety- Brasilia



17 NOVEMBER 2015, BRASILIA  On Tuesday the Global Alliance of NGOs for Road Safety announced the launch of the “Alliance Empowerment Program,” a capacity building program sponsored by FedEx. It aims to improve the ability of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) working in road safety around the world to design and implement initiatives that significantly reduce the risk of injury and fatality on the world’s roads. 
The announcement was made at an NGO rally held during the 2nd Global High-Level Conference on Road Safety in Brasilia, Brazil. More than 200 representatives were present at the rally, including representatives from NGOs working around the world, ministers, and road safety advocates from the corporate, philanthropic, and multilateral sectors. 
The Alliance Empowerment Program will be administered by the Global Alliance of NGOs for Road Safety, a coalition organization representing more than 140 NGOs operating in road safety in over 70 countries. The program aims to serve all Alliance-member NGOs and will feature face-to-face training workshops conducted in key regions of the world, webinars, online tool-kits, and mentorship services for NGOs. Training content will focus on relevant road safety topics and will provide technical training relating to project management, implementation, and advocacy.
“NGOs have significant potential to reduce traffic-related injuries and fatalities and advocate for road safety by implementing community initiatives. We want to make sure that they have the necessary skills to meet challenges and are able to respond to the needs they see in their communities.” said Lotte Brondum, Administrative Director of the Global Alliance of NGOs for Road Safety. “The Alliance Empowerment Program will provide this training to road safety NGOs around the world so that more lives can be saved and we can reach the targets included in the new Sustainable Development Goals.”
Approximately 1.25 million people die on the world’s roads each year, according to the World Health Organization’s newly published Global Status Report on Road Safety 2015. Traffic crashes are the number one killer of young people aged 15-29, and the eighth leading cause of death among all people worldwide. As a result, road safety is increasingly recognized as a major global health issue. Road safety targets were officially included in the post-2015 Sustainable Development Goals adopted at a UN summit held in September.
“The risk of dying on the roads is very real, and families all over world feel the devastating effects of traffic crashes,” stated Tabatha Stephens, Manager, FedEx Global Citizenship. “Thankfully, traffic crashes and their consequences can be significantly reduced through well-designed preventative measures. FedEx recognizes that NGOs play a critical role in promoting and implementing these measures in their communities and we want to support them in reaching their full potential to save lives.”
Currently, the Global Alliance of NGOs for Road Safety is conducting a needs assessment among member NGOs to gather information on area-specific weaknesses, to inform the exact content of the training program. Once implemented, the program will be systematically monitored and evaluated to determine its effectiveness in improving member NGO’s capacity to develop road safety initiatives that produce significant, measurable results.

European Commission - Traffic Safety Basic Facts and Infographics 2015


The Road Safety Unit of DG Move of the European Commission published recently theTraffic Safety Basic Facts and the respective Infographics for key road safety issues in Europe, with the active contribution of NTUAKFV and ERF.
The EU Traffic Safety Basic Facts are based on most recent disaggregate data for all EU countries from the CARE Database of the European Commission and concern several key road safety issues like road users safety (ChildrenYoung peopleYoung driversElderlyPedestrians,CyclistsGender), vehicle traffic safety (Motorcycles and mopedsPassenger carsHeavy goods vehicles and buses), road infrastructure safety (MotorwaysJunctionsUrban areasRoads outside urban areas) and accident type (Single vehicle accidentsSeasonality).

WHO Global Status Report on road safety 2015


The World Health Organization (WHO) released the Global Status Report on Road Safety 2015, which highlights that road traffic injuries are a major global health and development problem. This Status Report presents information on road safety from 180 countries out of a total of 195 WHO Member States, covering 6.97  billion people or 97% of the world’s population. It indicates that worldwide the total number of road traffic deaths has plateaued at 1.25 million per year, with the highest road traffic fatality rates in low-income countries. 
This WHO Global Status Report is accompanied by:
country profiles with detailed background road safety data and information,
comparative data tables, each one with detailed data of a specific topic by country/area,
infographics illustrating the main road accident safety causes,
- an interactive world map highlighting the main road safety indicators in each country,
- the respective press material and the data collection methodology.
NTUA has contributed actively to the country profile of Greece.

IRTAD Road Safety Annual Report 2015


The International Road Traffic and Accident Database (IRTAD) of the International Transport Forum (ITF/OECD) published recently the full version of the Annual Report 2015, which comprises a synthesis of the main trends and road safety indicators for the year 2013 and preliminary data for the year 2014. It presents longer-term trends in order to better understand the developments taking place in the different countries.
The number of road fatalities fell by 4.3% between 2013 and 2012 in the 32 IRTAD member countries with verified data. The long-term trend shows a very significant decrease of 42% between 2000 and 2013 in the IRTAD countries, however great disparities between countries persist.

ITF - Improving Safety for Motorcycle, Scooter and Moped Riders 2015


The International Transport Forum (ITF) has recently released a Research Report onImproving Safety for Motorcycle, Scooter and Moped Riders. This Report summarises the findings of the work of the Working Group on the Safety of Powered Two Wheelers set up by ITF in 2010 aiming to review trends in powered two-wheeler crashes and examine the factors contributing to these crashes and their severity. In this Report are presented in a consolidated way, a set of countermeasures targeting user behaviour, the use of protective equipment, the vehicles and the infrastructure and discussion on motorcycle safety strategies in the context of a Safe System approach.  NTUA has contributed actively to the preparation of this Report.

ERF Position Paper - Traffic Signs in European Roads 2015


The European Road Federation (ERF) launched recently its Position Paper towards improving Traffic Signs in European Roads: "Improved Signage for better Roads". This Position Paper advocates for authorities to avoid or tackle the over-proliferation of traffic signs and to ensure that those installed display a clear message, in order toachieve better road safety and traffic flow, and good use of public resources. Road authorities need to set a multiannual maintenance action plan. The need to adapt to the needs of an ageing driver population, by introducing a minimum maintenance standards for safety critical signs under the Vienna Convention is highlighted. This position paper calls for all stakeholders involved to examine the benefits of greater harmonisation of signs within the Vienna Convention to maximise the safety benefits of new vehicle technologies as well as to provide for a more familiar environment for increasing cross-border traffic volumes.

FIA Save Kids Lives - A film by Luc Besson 2015


film to raise awareness of the road safety crisis, directed by Luc Besson is now a part of the #SAVEKIDSLIVES campaign on road safety of the FIA and FIA Foundation, the international motoring federation. According to World Health Organisation figures, 500 children are killed each day in road crashes globally. In a bid to raise awareness of this road safety crisis, Jean Todt, President of the FIA, and Special Envoy of the UN Secretary General for Road Safety, turned to world renowned film director Luc Besson to deliver a potent visual message highlighting the road dangers facing children around the world.
The film is a shocking wake-up call and was shot on location in South Africa and Paris demonstrating the dangers faced every day by children on their journey to school, whether caused by the lack of safe infrastructure in the townships of South Africa or by the heavy traffic of a major European city.

UCF - Road Safety & Simulation International Conference, Orlando 2015


The 2015 Road Safety & Simulation International Conference (RSS), organised by theUniversity of Central Florida (UCF) and the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UTK) took place with great success on 6-8 October 2015, in Orlando, Florida, USA. Under the auspices of the Southeastern Transportation Center, three world-class research centers supported the conference: Center for Advanced Transportation Systems Simulation and the Institute for Simulation and Training at UCF and UTK’s Center for Transportation Research.
More than 200 road safety scientists showcased and discussed  advancements in traffic simulation and driving simulator technologies, introducing new initiatives and concepts that have emerged since the previous editions of the RSS conference .

International Conference on green accessible intelligent transport - Istanbul 2015


An international conference on Green Accessible Intelligent Transport (GAIT2015) - Turkey - EU partnership for sustainable transportation, organised by the European Commission and the Turkish Ministry of Transport, took place in Istanbul, on 8-9 October 2016.  The plenary and discussion sessions of the conference were attended by more than 700 participants and raised important issues belonging to the daily lives of Turkish and European citizens, varying from accessibility of transport services to the adaptation and mitigation challenges posed by climate change on the transport sector.
